Gardaí release two men arrested over Bunratty murder

Robert Sheehan had been attending his brother’s wedding and had gone to the car park for a cigarette when he was shot dead.

THE TWO MEN who were arrested last Sunday in connection with a murder of Robert Sheehan in Co Clare have been released without charge.

The two were arrested on Sunday morning in Cork city, hours after Sheehan was shot dead in a hotel car park in Bunratty.

Gardaí said the two had been released without charge, but that a file would be prepared for the DPP.

Sheehan had been attending his brother’s wedding and had gone to the car park for a cigarette when he was shot dead.

Witnesses to the incident, or anyone who was in the vicinity of the Bunratty Castle Hotel between 3am and 4am on Sunday morning to contact Shannon Garda Station at (061) 365900.
