IF YOU’VE EVER dreamed of spending your workdays high above the clouds and travelling all over the world as a member of an airline cabin crew, Groupon was targeting you last week.
The were offering a cabin crew diploma at a whopping discount of 96% – dropping in price from €410.09 to just €19. The diploma consists of 24 modules which you can take online with a designated course tutor.
Interestingly, the Groupon ad state that this is an “airline recognised course” so we thought we’d ask the two Irish airlines if this diploma would be enough to bag you a cabin crew job or if it would even give you a greater chance.
A spokesperson for Ryanair kept it short and to the point:
No. Ryanair only hires cabin crew from approved training schools, which are listed on our website.
Some of the other requirements for the job include fluent English, being physically fit and being ready to “meet the challenge of dealing with people and demanding situations”.
Aer Lingus never got back to us so there’s a very, very slight chance that if you bought this diploma, it would help you to join their cabin crew.
