Man in serious condition following 'altercation' in Cork

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses to an incident in Cork where a man sustained head injuries.

At approximately 2.15am on 27 December a 24-year-old man sustained head injuries during an altercation involving small number of people on High Road, Cobh.

The man was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital where he is continuing to undergo treatment. His condition is understood to be serious.

Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses, and in particular anyone who was in the vicinity of High Road between 2.00am and 2.30am to contact them at Cobh Garda Station on 021-490853 or the Garda Confidential Line – 1800 666 111.
