Cyclist seriously injured after hit-and-run collision in Ballymun

The incident happened this morning at around 7.45am on the Shangan Road, Dublin 9.

A MALE CYCLIST in his 20s has been seriously injured following a hit-and-run in Ballymun this morning.

Gardaí and emergency services attended to the serious hit-and-run collision at around 7.45am on the Shangan Road, Dublin 9.

The man, who was on a pedal bike, was taken from the scene to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital with serious injuries.

The car meanwhile left the scene.

The road is currently closed, and the scene is being technically examined by local crime scene investigators, with local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users with camera footage, including dash-cam, from the area at the time are asked to make this footage available.
