"The battle globally is only just beginning" - David Norris on what Pride means to him
We visited the LGBTA campaigner on the eve of the Pride festival.
IT’S A WEEKEND of Pride and parades – and TheJournal.ie visited Senator David Norris at his home to celebrate.
He has been grand marshal of the parade, and actively campaigned throughout his life for the rights of gay people – and wants to send a message to the community this weekend.
“My message would be to people of all age groups to celebrate and enjoy the day and also, now that we have achieved so much in this country… we have to consider the fact that throughout the globe the majority of countries still persecute gay people. The battle globally is really only just beginning and we cannot forget our brothers and sisters in other countries.”
