Department says no reports of Irish caught in quake

THE DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS has said it has no reports of Irish citizens being caught up in the effects of Japan’s earthquake and subsequent tsunami. A spokesperson for the Department said the helpline set up by its Consular Crisis Centre would remain active over the weekend, and could be reached at (01) 4180233.
