LOOKING FOR A car that will comfortably carry four adult passengers as well as a lot of cargo? Then this 2014 Peugeot 508 SW for €19,900 is worth considering.

The ‘SW’ stands for Sports Wagon and in this guise the 508 is an attractive looking big car. It has plenty of room up front and rear passengers have ample leg and head room. Even the middle seat passenger has a good amount of room.

The cabin is nice and bright and there are plenty of little cubby holes and storage areas to keep everything tucked away neatly.

Being an estate, one of its main selling points is boot capacity and at 512 litres with the seats up the 508 SW can carry a lot. The cargo area swells to 1,598 litres with the seats folded down.

This model is the Active trim version and comes with rear parking sensors, cruise control, climate control, 17-inch alloys and ESP.

It is powered by a 115hp 1.6-litre HDI engine mated to a manual gearbox.

Overall, it is a practical car with lots of space and a good engine.

This model is powered by a 160hp 2.0-litre TDI engine mated to a manual transmission.

Like the 508 SW it offers a comfortable ride and is great for long motorway drives.

The main difference between these two cars is the kilometres on the clock. The 508 SW has 61,169km but the Passat has 127,223km.

So, if you are looking for a car with lots of space and comfort with an economical engine then the 508 SW could be the car for you. However, if you want a more powerful car, with more space and added extras then the Passat could be the car for you.
