IF YOU’RE LOOKING to harness your leadership potential, change career, or launch a business of your own, an MBA qualification could be the key that unlocks those doors.
The Journal has partnered with Ireland’s leading business school, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, to offer a life-changing opportunity to one ambitious reader: a full MBA scholarship covering 100% of tuition fees.
To find out how to apply, you’ll need to be a reader of the Morning Memo, The Journal’s daily business newsletter. Sign up at the end of this article to be one of the first to find out more. But don’t delay – application details will only be in the newsletter for another week.
You’ll then have until 31 January 2022 to finalise your application.
Valued at up to €35,000, the scholarship covers your choice of either the full-time MBA, the part-time Executive MBA or the part-time Modular Executive MBA, commencing in August 2022.
The results are impressive: UCD Smurfit’s full-time MBA class of 2020 achieved an average of 77% growth in earnings within three months of graduation, and 92% were employed within five months of graduation.
The current Journal MBA scholar, pharmaceutical advisor Stacey Jamieson, began the programme in September 2021. Asked about its impact so far, she had this to say:
I have been surprised by the immediate influence the MBA has had on my professional life. I already find myself feeling more confident at work and comfortable in decisive decision-making. To anyone thinking about applying for the scholarship this year, I would say – go for it!
And the rewards of an MBA can stretch long past graduation, says Professor Cal Muckley, academic director of the UCD Smurfit School MBA programmes.
“From our alumni, we can see that their salaries grow on average, that they secure employment quickly and that they switch industries. There is also a strong community of alumni that remain engaged for years after graduating. It’s something of value to alumni and also a group that students can access, too.”
