Young man killed in three-car collision in Down

Another tragedy on the roads at Christmas time.

TRIBUTES HAVE BEEN paid to 20-year-old Jack Murnin following his tragic death in Down yesterday.

The young man was killed in a three-car collision at about 1pm on Monday afternoon near Downpatrick.

The three vehicles – a blue Mazda 6, a grey Rover MG and a blue Seat Leon – collided on the Strangford Road.

MP Margaret Ritchie paid her respects to the local victim and issued her deepest sympathies to his mother.

She also revealed that his father, Gerard, died in tragic circumstances 14 years ago.

In a separate incident in Lisburn, a 19-year-old man was critically injured and brought to hospital with head injuries.

He was a passenger in a car which crashed on the Hillhall road yesterday afternoon.
