Driver arrested after gardaí find cannabis at scene of car crash

The 33-year-old man also received a courts summons for bald tyres.

GARDAÍ ARRESTED THE driver of a car that crashed on the N4 at the weekend after cannabis was found at the scene.

The incident took place at 3pm on Saturday afternoon close to Maynooth.

The car swerved off the road after a tyre blowout. No one was injured.

After examining the car, gardaí discovered it had three bald tyres and the driver received a courts summons for each.

Cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €1,300 found after a search of the driver.

The 33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the investigation.

He was released from garda custody on bail to appear before Kilcock District Court at a later date.
