Drogheda boy, 4, killed after being hit by truck in housing estate

A 4-year-old boy dies after being knocked off his bike by a truck in a Tullyallen housing estate.

A FOUR-YEAR-OLD BOY has been killed after being struck by a truck in a housing estate in Drogheda, Co Louth.

The tragic incident occurred at around 5:45pm this evening, when the boy – who was cycling in the Townley Manor housing estate at the time – was hit by the heavy vehicle.

He was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where he was pronounced dead later.

The scene of the accident has been preserved for a forensic examination.
