GARDAÍ HAVE SEIZED heroin with a street value of €140,000 after the search of a house in Ballymun yesterday.

Members of the Ballymun District Drugs unit carried out the search which also yielded €2,000 in cash.

An 18-year-old man was arrested after the raid and has subsequently been charged. He is due to appear in court this afternoon.

Gardaí say that the search was carried out as part of an ongoing operation targeting drug dealing in the area which has yielded seizures of heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis herb.

Superintendent Finbarr Murphy of Ballymun Garda Station says the operation will continue.

“Gardai in Ballymun, with the assistance of community leaders and the people of Ballymun, will continue to clamp down on those involved in selling drugs and anti-social behaviour.”
