Dublin Bus 'shocked' after White Pride sticker spotted on vehicle

The ‘White Pride World Wide’ sticker was placed on the upper deck of the 77a bus.

DUBLIN BUS HAS said that it was “quite shocked” after a customer spotted a “White Pride World Wide” sticker on the upper deck of one of its vehicles.

A spokesperson has told TheJournal.ie that this incident appears to be an isolated one, and that there has only been one reported sighting of the sticker which bears the logo of the Stormfront organisation, an online white supremacist forum.

Twitter user Jose Miguel Jimenez said he spotted the sticker on a 77a bus and tweeted about it, saying that he was upset by it and was “raging” that he didn’t get a chance to remove it before exiting the bus at his stop.

Dublin Bus responded, saying that the company does not tolerate racism in any form. According to a spokeperson all depots have been informed to watch for the appearance of similar stickers and that they will be removed immediately.

Dublin Bus also contacted An Garda Siochana Racial and Intercultural Office, the Immigrant Council of Ireland and The Department of Justice, Equality and Defence (Office of the Promotion of Migrant Immigration).
