Emergency services tackle chemical leak in Dublin city centre
The incident occurred at a building on Strand Street Great.

SEVERAL EMERGENCY SERVICE vehicles were deployed to Dublin city centre this afternoon following reports of a chemical leak.
Dublin Fire Brigade said they were called at 2.17pm to a site at Strand Street Great, after receiving reports of a “substance leak” from a fridge.
Fire crews from Tara Street, Phibsborough and Donnybrook stations attended the scene.
Part of Strand Street Great was cordoned off between Jervis Street and Capel Street while firefighters, some wearing hazmat suits, worked to make the area safe.
Gardaí also assisted with traffic management.
By 3.50pm, Dublin Fire Brigade confirmed the incident was being scaled back, with traffic restrictions beginning to ease.
A garda spokesperson added that a section of Jervis Street, which had been closed for a time, has since reopened.
According to Dublin Fire Brigade, the scene has now been made safe and the operation is concluding.
