Four arrested after firearms and drugs found in Dublin house

The men and woman were arrested at two flats in Dublin’s Rialto area.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED three men and a woman after they seized a quantity of drugs and two firearms in Dublin.

The four were arrested in an operation in the South Circular Road/Rialto area of Dublin yesterday afternoon.

As part of a planned operation gardaí from Kevin Street Drug Unit, and gardai from Kilmainham station, searched two flats.

During the course of the searches they discovered a 9mm handgun along with ammunition and a sawn off shotgun and ammunition.  A quantity of cannabis and heroin was also seized.

The drugs, which gardaí say are subject to analysis, may have a street value of €15,000.

The three men, aged in their mid 30s, and the 29-year-old woman, were arrested at the scenes and are all currently detained.

Two of the men are detained  under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Kevin Street Garda Station.

The third man and the woman are detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939/98 and are at Kilmainham and Irishtown Garda Stations.
