CHI report referred to gardaí

1. The HSE has referred an unpublished report into concerns including waiting list and the misspending of money at CHI hospitals to An Garda Síochána, with Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll MacNeill requesting a redacted version to be released “in the broader public interest”.

3. US President Donald Trump has signed a new travel ban targeting 12 countries including Afghanistan, Iran and Yemen, tough this will not extend to athletes travelling to the States for the World Cup in 2026 and Olympics in 2028.

4. Aid distribution centres run by the US and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) are to remain closed again today, while Israeli strikes killed at least 10 people in the Palestinian enclave this morning.

7. A tourist at Dublin Airport ate the biometric data page of his passport after assaulting a Dublin Airport official verifying his identity, a court heard.

8. Mayo Pride took down an online post depicting a parody of the ‘Child of Prague’ statue following backlash which has prompted organisers to review their social media content policy.

Bulgaria gets euro green light

9. The European Commission has given approval for Bulgaria to adopt the euro from next year, putting it on course to become the 21st member of the eurozone.
