Elderly man dies in Donegal house fire

The body of an 87-year-old man was discovered early this morning at his home in Gortahork.

AN ELDERLY MAN has died following a fire at his home in Glasserchoo in Gortahork, Co Donegal.

The body of the man, 87, was discovered at approximately 7.20am today. His remains were removed to Letterkenny General Hospital, where a post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place later this afternoon.

Gardaí say the man was the only occupant of the house.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination.
