Man dies following single vehicle collision in Co Galway

The fatal road collision occurred at Kildaree, Williamstown, at around 9.15am today.

GARDAÍ IN TUAM are investigating a fatal single vehicle road collision in which a man died this morning.

The crash occurred at Kildaree, Williamstown Co Galway at approximately 9.15am this morning.

The car was occupied by three people and collided with a wall. The driver, a male in his early 50s, was seriously injured and was pronounced dead at Mayo General Hospital this afternoon.

The other occupants, two females, were not seriously injured.

The area was sealed off for a forensic collision investigation and the road has since re-opened.  Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact Tuam Garda Station on 093 70840.
