What's the first thing you put on when you turn on the TV?

A new Ofcom report has highlighted a shift in viewer preferences among different age groups.

New research from Ofcom, the UK’s broadcasting regulator, has revealed audience watching habits – particularly what viewers choose first when they turn on their TV.

While BBC One remains the most common starting point overall, preferences were shown to vary significantly by age group. Viewers aged 16 to 34 are most likely to head to Netflix first, with 18.2% choosing the streaming service as their starting point.

Among children aged 4 to 15, YouTube was the most popular choice, with over 20% selecting it as their first stop. It is now the UK’s second most-watched platform, behind the BBC and ahead of ITV.

So, let’s turn the question to you: What’s the first thing you put on when you turn on the TV?

Poll Results:

Live broadcast channels (4538)
Streaming services (1927)
