MARS IRELAND IS recalling a number of its Galaxy products due to the potential presence of salmonella in ingredients.
The voluntary recall is being carried out across Ireland and the UK with two brands affected in Ireland and seven in the UK.
Mars Ireland says the decision was taken, “due to the potential presence of salmonella from the ingredients used in making chocolate.”
The company says that “a small amount” of the products are potentially affected.
The products being recalled in Ireland are:
“No other brands or varieties of chocolate, pack formats, bar sizes or best before dates are affected,” the company has said in a statement.
The possible presence of salmonella was detected as part of a routine testing process and the company says it has not had any complaints.
Despite this, people are being advised not to eat the above listed products if they have them.
“Please keep the product and contact our consumer care team to arrange return and reimbursement,” Mars Ireland has said.
