Gardaí attend armed standoff in Waterford City

GARDAÍ ARE ATTENDING the scene of an armed standoff in Waterford City this evening. Officers were called to Penrose Lane in the Glen area of the city shortly after 5:30pm this evening, and local reports indicated that the man was waving what appeared to be an automatic weapon. No injuries are reported.
