Gardaí seize drugs in Kildare in operation targeting drug dealers

Gardaí seized cocaine and cannabis worth an estimated €117,000 during two searches in Naas.

GARDAÍ IN KILDARE have seized drugs with an estimated value of around €117,000 as part of an operation targeting drug dealing in Kildare.

Detectives and members of the Organised Crime Unit discovered cannabis with an estimated street value of €34,000 after stopping and searching a car in Naas yesterday afternoon.

Two men were arrested at the scene.

In a follow-up operation, Gardaí searched an apartment and found cocaine, cannabis herb and cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €83,000. Some cash and drug paraphernalia was also recovered.

One of the men remains in custody in Naas Garda Station this afternoon. The second man was released without charge this morning and a file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí say investigations are continuing into the seizures.
