'Violent struggle' as two gardaí tackled man armed with gun in Ballyfermot

The man was arrested and a gun, ammunition and a knife were seized.

TWO GARDAÍ TACKLED a man armed with a gun in Ballyfermot late last night.

The officers were responding to calls after shots were heard coming from the Kylemore Park area at around 11pm.

The man was disarmed after what gardaí described as a ‘violent struggle’.

A firearm, ammunition and a knife were seized and the 47-year-old man was arrested.

He’s currently being held at Ballyfermot Garda Station and gardaí say that investigations are ongoing.
