A TEENAGE BOY was taken to hospital with stab wounds after he was attacked on Henry Street in Dublin city centre.
The incident happened at 7.30pm on Tuesday evening on the busy shopping street near Jervis Street.
Sources said a row had broken out between teenagers – during the incident the victim was stabbed by another teenager.
Gardaí have arrested a teenage suspect, and he was questioned but released with a file being prepared for the Youth Diversion Programme.
This is a procedural measure for all juveniles accused of a crime and does not mean that the boy will escape being charged.
A garda statement said that the initial call to henry Street was for a public order incident.
“A male youth aged in his teens was conveyed to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at the time. Investigations are ongoing.
“A male juvenile was arrested in connection with the incident. He has since been released pending a file to the Youth Diversion Programme,” the statement read.
