THREE PEOPLE HAVE been arrested in Dublin as part of an operation targeting the supply of controlled drugs in the south inner city.
Heroin with an estimated street value of €55,000, pending analysis, was seized when gardaí from the Kevin Street Drugs Unit, assisted by local and divisional units, searched two flats in the Dolphin’s Barn area late last night.
Two men aged in their 20s and 30s and a woman in her 40s were arrested during the operation.
They are currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Kevin Street and Kilmainham Garda Stations.
Investigations are ongoing.
In a statement gardaí said these operations “use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks”.
“Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.”
