THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE have been marching in cities across the world today to mark May Day, which has long been associated with International Workers’ Day.
People marching in Asian cities including Seoul, Hong Kong, and Manila, called for better worker rights and wages.
Indonesian demonstrators called for better social security, chanting “the country is rich, but the people are poor,” according to the AFP, while Filipinos said they want an end to the policy of sending workers overseas.
