The John Lewis Christmas ad is here and it's our favourite one yet

All the feelings.

IT’S HERE. THE John Lewis Christmas ad is something of an institution. An institution that makes all of us cry every year.

The 2015 ad has finally arrived and here it is in all its glory:

John Lewis / YouTube

It’s about a little girl Lily who makes friends with a lonely man on the moon, and eventually shows him he’s appreciated despite communication being quite one-way at first.

The song is a cover of Oasis’ Half the World Away, by Norwegian singer Aurora. The department store have teamed with Age UK for their Christmas campaign and hopes to raise “awareness of the issue of loneliness amongst older people and encourages others to support in any way they can”, according to Customer Director Craig Inglis.
