IT WAS AN unlikely place for two former heavyweight boxers to meet but the European People’s Party congress in Dublin played host to this knockout photo involving Vitali Klitschko and Kenneth Egan this evening.

Egan, who is running for Fine Gael in Clondalkin in the local elections, made sure he got a political savvy photo with the former heavyweight champion turned political leader who is in the capital to press his country’s case for joining the EU.

Egan, as you probably know, won a light-heavyweight boxing silver medal at the 2008 Olympics.

But does that achievement match this moment?
