THE LABOUR PARTY has confirmed it is to hold a convention on June 19 where the party will choose its candidate to contest this October’s presidential election. A single transferable vote will be extended to the party’s 37 TDs, 12 senators, three MEPs and the 14 members of its Executive Board. The party confirmed that there are three nominees for the spot: Fergus Finlay, Michael D Higgins, and Kathleen O’Meara.
