Photos: Leaving Cert students collect their results and warm the cockles of our hearts

LOOK HOW HAPPY THEY ARE.

MAYBE IT IS one of the most important days of their lives but it can also be one of the most stressful.

Which might explain the major relief among so many people upon getting their results – they’re just glad that it’s all over.

As usual, photographers were out around the country getting reaction from students as they opened their results and managed to avoid the much-parodied shot of girls jumping into the air with excitement.

Instead, there was excitement, happiness, some disappointment, bucketloads of relief, and hugs. Lots and lots of hugs.
