Man and toddler killed on Irish roads

Gardaí investigating deaths of two people in separate crashes in Co Louth and Co Limerick.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING separate road crashes which have killed two people since yesterday afternoon.

A one-year-old boy died after a two-car collision on the N20 at Rockhill Cross, Bruree, Co Limerick, at around 4.15pm yesterday.

The female driver and a six-year-old girl were taken to Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick. Two men who were travelling in the other vehicle were also taken to hospital.

Gardaí in Bruff are appealing to anyone with any information regarding that crash to contact them on 061 382 940.

In Louth, one man in his 30s was killed when his car struck a ditch at around 2.45am at Philipstown, Hackballscross. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí say that the road is closed for a technical examination and diversions are in place.
