Man fatally stabbed in Cork

A man has been fatally stabbed and two others have been hospitalised following row outside a pub in Cork.

A MAN HAS died after being stabbed in Togher in Cork in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí say that the incident occurred following a row outside a pub on Lower Friars Walk, Ballyphehane. The victim, aged 51, received serious injuries and was brought to Cork University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

An 18 year-old-male and a female in her twenties were also injured in the incident. They were taken to Mercy University Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

Two men were arrested for public order offences and have subsequently been released from custody without charge pending further investigation.
