Man (28) due before court today in connection with firearms seizure

The 28-year-old man, who was arrested over the weekend, is due before Blanchardstown Court this morning.

A MAN IS expected to appear before court this morning to face charges in connection with a firearms seizure from earlier this year.

On the 24 January 2017, gardaí seized a total of 15 firearms, 1,300 rounds of assorted ammunition and a substantial amount of cash during a search operation.

The search, led by members of the Drugs Organised Crime Bureau, was carried out at Greenogue Industrial Estate, Baldonnel, Co Dublin.

The 28-year-old man who will appear before court today was arrested in Co Wexford last Sunday (7 May).

He was detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at a west Dublin garda station, and will appear before Blanchardstown District Court later this morning.

He is the fourth person to be charged in the case. Three men are currently before the courts charged in connection with the investigation.
