AS WE KNOW from previous experience questions to the Communications, Energy and Natural Resources Minister are not usually exciting events in the Dáil.
But yesterday’s question from the Tipperary South’s Mattie McGrath about placing electricity powerlines underground led to a heated discussion between the TD and the Minister Pat Rabbitte.
There were words about Cathy Barry’s dog (no idea), cavemen (on foot previous comments by Rabbitte), Angela Merkel and then McGrath accused the Minister of being “like Murphy’s cow with two dry tits, one blind tit and a sup of milk in the other tit”.
Rabbitte then responded, with remarks that will be familiar to TheJournal.ie readers, by saying: “Whatever about the tits on Mrs. Murphy’s cow, to be honest that contribution by the Deputy was about as useful as tits on a bull.”
You can watch the whole exchange in the video above.
