Driver aged 21 killed, five others injured in single car crash

The crash happened on the Dunshaughlin to Dunboyne Road at around 12.30am.

A MAN AGED 21 has been killed and five others injured after a single vehicle crash in Co Meath overnight. It happened on the R147 Dunshaughlin to Dunboyne Road at around 12.30am after their car hit a ditch.

The young man who died was the driver of the car. The passengers (three males and two females) received non life-threatening injuries.

A section of the road is closed this morning as forensic tests are carried out. Diversions are in place.

The injured passengers have been brought to Blanchardstown, Tallaght and Beaumont hospitals.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Dunshaughlin Garda Station on 01 825 8600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
