EMERGENCY SERVICES HAVE been battling a fire at a recycling plant outside Slane in Co Meath since last night.
The fire broke out at the Panda recycling plant at the Beaupark Business Park around 7km south of Slane on the N2 at around 11.30pm last night.
RTÉ is reporting that eight units of the fire brigade are at the scene and that there is a large quantity of combustible material at the site.
It’s understood significant damage has been caused to a number of buildings on the site, where around 250 people are employed.
Gardaí and AA Roadwatch are appealing to motorists to exercise extreme caution while driving in the area due to reduced visibility.
