Son starts campaign to find his mother missing from Lucan since Monday

“We’re just hoping and searching right now.”

THE SON OF a missing woman has started an online campaign in an effort to find his mother who has been missing since Monday morning.

Marian Power was last seen walking away from St Edmundsbury hospital in Lucan at around 9am on January 12.

The 61-year-old was a very-low risk patient at the open psychiatric ward. Her son said, “She was there of her own accord so she could leave of her own accord.”

Speaking on Liveline on RTÉ Radio 1, her son Alymer said, “We’re quite worried about her to be honest.

We’re just hoping and searching right now – she’s very bubbly and she could talk to anyone.

He believes that Marian – who is known as ‘Mitch’ and ‘Mars’ – may have been returning to the family home in Limerick or travelling towards Roscrea where she is originally from.

According to Alymer, the Lucan area would have been very unfamiliar to her and “she could have gotten lost quite easily”.

unnamed (12)

Mitch is an “active, outdoorsy” woman; 5ft 2” in height, of slim build with brown to fair hair.

When last seen she was wearing a navy jacket, tight navy waterproof trousers and brown leather Dubarry boots.

She was also wearing a very distinctive brown and red ski hat with ear flaps and golden tassles.
