More flights cancelled as Aer Lingus dispute talks continue

Talks at the LRC set to resume today in bid to end dispute over new rosters which is now in its third week.

DISCUSSIONS BETWEEN AER LINGUS management and the Impact trade union which represents cabin crew are due to resume today amid further flight cancellations.

All passengers are advised to check the status of their flight before travelling to the airport, and those affected by today’s 22 cancellations will be contacted by the airline by email and SMS.

The Irish Times reports that between 1,000 and 1,500 passengers could be affected today.

Talks at the Labour Relations Commission began over the weekend and are due to continue again today.

About 300 cabin crew involved in the dispute have been taken off the airline’s payroll and yesterday seven crew members were asked to attend a disciplinary meeting over their refusal to operate the new rosters. This is the third week of a dispute Aer Lingus says is affecting its passenger bookings.
