North Korea

3. North Korea fired about 10 unidentified ballistic missiles toward the sea of Japan, days after Pyongyang warned of “terrible consequences” over South Korea-US military drills.

St Patrick’s visits

4. Micheál Martin took the new government jet on its maiden voyage across the Atlantic to America last night as the Taoiseach embarks on this year’s St Patrick’s Day festivities.

Whistleblower

5. The US tourism arm of State transport company CIÉ had to pay back more than $4.28 million to the American government after a whistleblower flagged that it should not have received the money in pandemic-era supports.

6. Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan published a bill that would allow for the taking of oral testimony in Irish courts as part of the UK government’s inquiry into the 1998 Omagh bombing perpetrated by the Real IRA.
