Motorcyclist (50s) dies after single-vehicle collision in Co Limerick

The collision happened on the R519 at around 7pm on Sunday.

A MOTORCYCLIST HAS died following a single-vehicle collision in Co Limerick. 

The collision happened on the R519 at Callahow, a townland around 5km north of the south Limerick village of Dromcollogher, at around 7pm on Sunday. 

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene, His body has been taken to the morgue in University Hospital Limerick, where a post-mortem examination will be arranged.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The road is closed with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.

They are asking any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, and who were travelling in the area between 6.15pm and 7.15pm on Sunday to make this footage available to them.
