Motorcyclist killed after colliding with car in Cork

The man, in his 40s, was pronounced dead at Mercy University Hospital.

A MAN in his 40s has been killed after his motorcycle collided with a car in Co Cork.

The accident happened at Upper Glanmire, about seven kilometres north-east of Cork city, at about 1:30pm.

The man was taken to Mercy University Hospital but pronounced dead at the hospital.

The stretch of road remains closed this evening, pending forensic examination by Garda investigators, and local traffic diversions are in place.

The occupants of the car were uninjured.
