Motorcyclist (20s) seriously injured after two-vehicle collision in Sligo

The collision happened on the N15 near Cashelgarran, Grange.

A MOTORCYCLIST IN his 20s has been seriously injured following a two-vehicle collision in Co Sligo yesterday.

The collision, involving a car and a motorcycle, happened on the N15 near Cashelgarran, Grange, Co. Sligo shortly after 8pm.

The male driver of the motorcycle, a man in his 20s, was taken to Sligo University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

A female passenger of the car, aged in her 60s, was also taken to Sligo University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

The road remains closed and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users with camera footage, including dash-cam, who were travelling in the area between 7:40pm and 8:10pm yesterday are asked to make this footage available.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sligo Garda Station on 071 915 7000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

A garda spokesperson said investigations are ongoing.
