Want to ask the head of NASA some questions? Here's how.

NASA Administrator Charles Bolden will be in Dublin next week and he’ll be answering questions from people on Twitter.

WHY HAS NO-ONE walked on the moon since 1972? Will astronauts ever be able to travel to Mars?

If you’ve ever thought about these or any other questions about space, the head of NASA wants to hear from you. Charles Bolden will be in Dublin next Thursday (12 July) and he’ll be answering questions people put to him on Twitter.

The US Embassy has set up the hashtag #AskCharlie and it’s calling on members of the public to ask any and all questions it has about NASA and space. Questions have to be in by Wednesday and Bolden will answer the best ones on the US Embassy’s YouTube channel.

Bolden, who served in the Marine Corps for 34 years before taking over as the head of NASA in 2009, will also be giving a lecture at Trinity College Dublin on 12 July.

Personally we’re planning on asking about whether Voyager really is about to become the first spacecraft to leave the solar system and enter outer space…
