People outside Newgrange this morning for the Winter Solstice Office of Public Works

Did you watch the Winter Solstice sunrise from Newgrange this morning?

It marks the shortest day and longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.

ONLY A LUCKY 14 people were able to be inside Newgrange Chamber this morning for the Winter Solstice, but hundreds of others created a joyful atmosphere outside.

The Winter Solstice was also livestreamed and broadcast on RTÉ. 

The Winter Solstice marks the shortest day and longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.
