Man dies after second serious stabbing in the North over the weekend.

PSNI OFFICERS HAVE arrested one man in connection with the death of a 24-year-old man in Derry last night.

The man was stabbed to death around 10.30pm at an apartment block in Castledawson on the main Belfast to Derry road. A man in his early 20s was arrested close to the scene.

In a separate incident, a young nurse in Tyrone was stabbed in the head as she opened her front door yesterday morning.

Tracy Monteith, 23, from Omagh, was attacked just after 5am and is in critical condition in hospital. A young man who was discovered on the road outside with injuries to his face and body was also admitted to hospital.

The PSNI are appealing to anyone with any information regarding the incidents to contact them.
