Open thread: What are you stocking up on for Christmas?

What food, drink or entertainment do you rely on to get you through the festive season? Join the discussion here…

IT’S THE LAST weekend before Christmas – and the last opportunity for many of us to shop for those essential supplies.

There are meals to plan, turkeys to defrost and supplies of drinks to lay in for thirsty relatives. Some of us might also be stocking up on headache tablets and indigestion remedies.

So what are the things that help you enjoy – or survive – the festive season? Are you buying in box sets to get you through the long winter evenings, or turf to keep the fire lit day and night? Does your family have any odd traditions, weird foods or unusual drinks at Christmas?
