Girl thing

Patronising video of the day: Science, it's a girl thing

Haven’t you heard?

LADIES, YOU WILL be delighted to learn that science is – officially – “a girl thing”.

In a new video by EU Commission, several young women in brightly coloured mini-dresses prance around a seemingly infinite laboratory to prove just that.

And if the random images of polished nails, lipstick and chemistry equipment don’t get the message across quite enough, the Commission kindly points out that science can be useful in lots of areas – including cosmetics and fashion.

Amazingly, this teaser trailer is part of a drive to break-down stereotypes in the industry.

No, we don’t know what they were thinking either.
