Pedestrian in her 60s killed after being struck by vehicle in Roscommon

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 50s, was not injured.

A WOMAN IN her 60s has died after she was struck by a vehicle in Roscommon last night. 

Gardaí are now investigating the fatal road traffic collision at Kilmaryal, Elphin.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident shortly after 8pm. 

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 50s, was not injured.

The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination of the area by Garda Forensic Collision investigator and local diversions are in place.
