Poll: Children in restaurants ... we're okay with that, are we?

“More ketchup for your nuggets, young… No, no, it’s fine, sir, I’ll pick it up.”

IT’S A FAMILIAR story: diners show up at fancy restaurant, toddler in tow, only to be told they need a booking, or otherwise fobbed off.

One such incident is reported in this morning’s Herald. This time, it concerns a young mother who was told she couldn’t eat at a well known Dublin 4 restaurant because the manager didn’t want his corporate lunchtime diners being disturbed by her baby.

What do you think? Should small children be allowed in restaurants, or is it okay for them to have a ‘zero tolerance’ policy at certain times?

Poll Results:

Certain times should be child-free zones. (4930)
It's up to each restaurant. It's their business. (4291)
Children are people too. Let them in. (3393)
No interest/what's a restaurant? (149)
