WE’RE A WEEK into December, which means it’s prime time for Christmas decorations to be put up and selection boxes to be bought.
On The Journal today, Diarmuid Pepper weighs up the pros and cons of having a real tree versus a fake one.
Sustainability manager at Dublin City University Samantha Fahy noted that although an artificial tree could be better in the long run as opposed to getting a new real tree each year, she warned against the “risks of continued extraction of fossil fuels” and that this is more “impactful” on the environment.
